TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Companies with leading sustainability positions (e.g. top 3 in DJSI) are moving from risk and reputation management to value creation and strengthening their competitive position. In addition to this, more and more (young) business people want to be part of businesses that offer products and services that improve the quality of life and create wealth by actively shaping a more sustainable future. For this transformation, a ‘critical mass’ of at least 10-15% of young and senior executives is needed. One of the key challenges is to actively engage the change agents: aspiring senior executives at business unit level and young managers; our future leaders.

Services and track record
Triple Value develops and facilitates executive training programs that provide insight in the relevance of specific sustainability trends for business units with an emphasis on value creation. We offer inspiring dialogue that moves managers out of their comfort zone. At the same time, we create focus in the highly divers, multi-dimensional sustainability issues by explicitly aligning the training with key business functions such as marketing, R&D, manufacturing, purchasing, and the specific needs of the target audience. The interaction and working sessions result in action plans that can be deployed shortly after finalising the training.

Our training approach has proven itself in the course of more than 10 years. Building on our experience in the Development Finance sector, we recently broadened our proposition to include marketing, R&D, manufacturing and purchasing. Our clients include FMO and the Inter-American Development Bank (Development Finance), AkzoNobel and Pon Holding. We aspire to further expand our portfolio in sectors such as chemistry, food & beverage, electronics and construction.

Team
The Triple Value Training and Development team consists of Erik van Dam (partner), Wouter Scheepens (partner) and Öznur Yurtsever (managing consultant).

Customer quote
“In the beginning of 2008 we started with a bottom-up process in which young professionals from different countries in Europe started to develop training modules on sustainability. Triple Value has supported the “Sustainability in the Value Chain” team to develop the ‘sustainability and marketing program’. Building on a successful pilot with senior marketing managers in December 2008, this program is currently being deployed in our organisation. In addition, the structure of the program served as an example for other training modules”, says Joanne Cornish, coordinator of the Sustainability in the Value Chain project within AkzoNobel Powder Coatings.
